FOSLS Newsletter October 2009

We’re sure you’ve heard by now, but just in case you’ve missed it – the school took delivery of 16 laptops and a charging trolley last week.  WOW!

Through the fundraising events organised by the FOSLS committee and the help and support of so many of you, we have raised an amazing amount of money.

Well done and thank you to everyone – you are all Friends of St. Lawrence School and together we have made this happen.

This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone and the FOSLS team is very proud to be able to support the Governing Body and the school in this way.

What does it mean for the children?

The teaching of ICT within school will be fundamentally changed through the use of this technology and every child in school will benefit from it.

Lessons on ICT can take place with the whole class actively participating in the lesson.  Children will be able to share a laptop with just one person rather than waiting for their time on the desktop computer

Here’s what some children think:

These laptops are amazing, thank you so much FOSLS and any one else who donated, they are the best thing the school has ever had they are really cool I want one at home now they  will be so much easier to use, and no waiting to get on the computer.

Thanks FOSLS!!!!

I think it is a really good idea to

have 16 laptops as it gets more people

 getting further in ICT

It is really fantastic to have our

own laptop and typing in our words.

We really like this laptop because

 it is not as crowded.
